Afghanistan summit

On the occasion of the Afghanistan summit in The Hague on 31 March 2009, Zuidkoop Natural Projects gave a Dutch face to the entrance to the World Forum with 25,000 tulips.

In the weekend prior to the summit, the Zuidkoop team took care of the presentation of the flags of the participating countries. The flags were mounted in a 20-metre long tulip field with more than 9,500 cut tulips. Eight stately 4-metre-high pillars were also erected, each with 2,000 pastel-coloured tulips. The sight was a perfectly Dutch spring décor for welcoming the dignitaries.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the flower arrangers of Zuidkoop created a truly spectacular Netherlands – Land of Flowers promotion since the world’s media were on hand to witness the arrival of the guests.
